LOTW Letter H with Filia By: Siobhan

This past week Filia and I did the letter H for Hippo for our LOTW curriculum.
Our memory verse for this week was Exodus 20:12

I finally have a video uploaded of Tert and Filia saying one of their memory verses. This one was from letter I:
John 15:5
Filia started out with her floor numbers
Her new favorite spot to work is either on my bed or in our purple beanbag chair.
Filia wanted to copy the words below the picture. She is doing an awesome job forming her letters.

Filia is doing a great job with her letters. It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through the LOTW curriculum!

Chai Spiced Almonds By: Siobhan

Merry Christmas Everyone! Today I have a new recipe for you. It makes a great last minute Christmas gift, and it uses very few ingredients. These Chai Spiced Almonds are absolutely delicious and easy to throw together. I got the recipe out of the Weelicious Lunches cookbook. Let's get started...
Ingredients:
1 12 oz. bag raw almonds
2 T honey
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1/2 tsp. salt
Non-stick spray
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment and roast almonds for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Place almonds in a bowl and drizzle with honey.
Step 3: Sprinkle the spices over the nuts.
Step 4: Toss the almonds until every nut is evenly coated.
Step 5: Spray baking pan with non-stick spray. Put almonds back in the pan and bake for 8 minutes.
Let the almonds cool completely.
If I bake the almonds for our family to eat, I simply put them back in whatever container they came in. I made this batch for a gift, so I put these in some mini treat bags. You can put them in a little gift box like the one above if you are giving them to someone with a gift card or small gift.
