Merry Christmas 2020! (Siobhan)

~Merry Christmas 2020~

We had such a wonderful Christmas! It definitely looked different this year, but we enjoyed celebrating a lot of our traditions and starting some new ones. Here are some pictures :)

Christmas Cookie decorating is always one of our favorite traditions!
Shaila and I tried making a Buche de Noel log this year. It was a lot more complicated than we expected, but it was so much fun!
Every year we love visiting the Tinsel Trail. It is a trail along a river in downtown Huntsville, where local business decorate themed Christmas trees that you can walk through. The trees were so creative this year!

Ethan's art always blows me away. This is my favorite picture he has drawn so far, of little Owen!

I hope you all had a blessed holiday season! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from our family to yours...

Happy Thanksgiving 2020!! (Siobhan)

~Happy Thanksgiving~

Happy (Belated!) Thanksgiving from our family to yours. I know this post is very late, but I finally found a moment to put our pictures together. This past month has been so full, and it's hard to believe it is only a few days until Christmas. This holiday season has looked very different for our family, but we have made a lot of really special memories, and we can't wait to share them with you :)
This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Tholes and enjoyed a feast!! Mom made a Spiced and Glazed Roast Turkey

Honey Glazed Ham, more turkey and gravy, Gingered Sweet Potatoes, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Pineapple Stuffing

Homemade dinner rolls by Pastor Thole, more potatoes, and Herby Mushroom Croissant Stuffing
We couldn't forget the pies!! We like to try one new pie each year, and this year I made a Fudge Brownie and Chocolate Frangelico Crème Brûlée Pie! I also made a Pumpkin Bavarian Cream Tart. We also had regular pumpkin pie, chocolate chess pie, cherry pie and ice cream!
During Thanksgiving weekend, Chris and Beth came to visit us. We had so much fun with them and enjoyed introducing them to Alabama!

The night they arrived we had some appetizers for dinner. Mom made a beautiful cheese wreath, and I made Sweet and Savory Cheesy Bacon Wrapped Puff Pastry Twists. We also had mulled cider, BBQ meatballs, crackers, and leftover pie!
As always, the day after Thanksgiving we went out to Trim-A-Tree Farm and picked our Christmas tree. I am so thankful we have been able to keep up some of our most special traditions!

I hope you all have had a very special holiday season so far. I will try and not be quite as late posting our Christmas pictures!
