Predicting the Freezing Point of Liquids by: Rus age: 8

Hi. I'm Rus. We did a really fun experiment for this lesson. Our supplies were
5 cups with different liquids.
cup #1 water and salt.
cup #2 water and Epsom salt.
cup #3 water
cup #4 rubbing alcohol
cup #5 jello
We guessed which would freeze first.
This is the results.
cup #3 solid
cup #5 slightly frosty but firm.
cup #2 slushy at the top and frozen on the bottom.
cup #1 water at the top, pile of salt at the bottom
cup #4 didn't freeze at all
PS  by Mom...  I have to brag a little and say that I came in first place with the most accurate predictions.  (I guess that I can keep my job!).  Leo and Rus came in second, and Grandma and Tert tied for third.  ;)  This was a great way for the kids to see why we ice our roads in the winter to lower their freezing point.
