Our Family Vacation 2014 By: Siobhan aka Stella

It seems like it has been such a long time since I've done an update on the blog. Most of you know that we went on a two week vacation in June, so I've been totally behind on pictures ever since then. Dad bought me a memory card for my camera so I could take lots of pictures, and the grand total ended up being 528 photos!
I won't put them all here, but here are some. :)

Hop in!
 Buckle up!
Sunglasses
Set the GPS
Outta my way!
Ready to go!
The first leg of our trip was our drive to PA to visit Great Grandma Zobel. This took 9 hours!

It was pretty crowded, to say the least!
When we arrived we were greeted by family and a delicious meal.
Shuffleboard
Picnicking
Ring toss!
Little Lux bonded with Great Grandma (and her oatmeal cookies :) )
We also went to Delaware to visit the Fergusons.
Next we drove to WV to visit with the Hakes. We had such a wonderful time!
Little Lux tried real food instead of baby food and never looked back.

Elaina took such wonderful care of Filia and Lux.
We had such yummy food.
Our favorite spot was definitely in the Hake's huge inground pool.
Mom and Elsie
Watergun fights!
Mom's spa :)
Elsie, Elaina, and Siobhan
The Pierceys and the Hakes
Leo, Rus, Tert, Filia, Elsie, and Elaina put on a Cinderella play for us. They did a fantastic job. Filia was Cinderella, Tert was the Prince, Rus was the Duke, and Leo was the Footman and King. Elsie and Elaina played the Stepmother, Horse, Footman, and Fairy Godmother.
We got to visit Harpers Ferry next. We stayed for two nights in a rental house there.
Chinese Food in our Rental Place
We hiked the Appalachian trail.
Mater and Pater
Stella, Leo, Rus, Tert, Filia, and Little Lux
After a day of hiking, we came back to the rental place, which had a charcoal grill, so we had an amazing cookout on the patio.
We had two bathrooms and two bedrooms. The boys camped out in the livingroom.
After a couple quiet days in Harpers Ferry, we went to visit the Howards and Chisms.
Filia, Chalice, Tert, and Aria
Hailey, Chalice, Filia, Tert, and Aria
Hailey and Filia
Tert and Aria were partners in crime! They made $7 selling paper wallets.
The Hakes went to Texas for a week, so we went to their house to 'housesit' for them and spend the rest of our vacation there.
We went to the National Zoo for free. It was really cool!
Little Lux LOVED the zoo and laughed and waved at all of the animals.
We loved the otters.
The bird exhibits were really cool.
Filia loved the Naked Mole Rats.
The orangutans were really neat.
Dad, Leo, and I went to D.C. for a day. We started out by picnicking underneath the Washington Monument. It was so much bigger than I had pictured it!
The World War II Memorial
"They fought together as brothers-in-arms. They died together, and now they sleep slide by side. To them we have a solemn obligation."
New Hampshire!
Holding up the Washington Monument
Lincoln Memorial
Vietnam Memorial
White House
We went inside the Museum of American History
Capitol Building
We also went through the Air and Space Museum
West Virginia was SO pretty.

We had such a great time. A big thank you to everyone who made our vacation possible!
