We started out by making some homemade baked beans in the slow cooker. We transferred them into containers and LOVE having them with hot dogs for a satisfying lunch!
Then we made some homemade Orange Black Beans. These were sooooo delicious! These are also amazing with hotdogs, or quesadillas-pretty much anything! After making a huge batch of these, we transferred them to quart bags, and froze them.
Here is a preview of a meal we had! Veggie Burgers, with Tomatoes, Lettuce, and Vidalia Onion Dressing and Homemade Baked Beans-Yum!
Then of course we have the turkey stock!
This is a new recipe we tried: pumpkin granola. It is absolutely amazing! We couldn't leave the bowl out in between batches: we would have eaten it all! ;-)
Then we have banana muffins, blueberry muffins, pumpkin muffins, morning glory muffins...
***Note: Some of the things we baked I didn't post pictures for, such as homemade tomato sauce, granola, cookies and pancakes-but if you want to see what we do for those, scroll down on our blog and click Older Posts if it isn't on the main page :-)
Finally we tried something completely new and crazy-'Pepper Juice, a secret weapon in flu season to boost your immune system!' The ingredients you can see on the cutting board, and Leo decided to help with this project. I watched while Mom and Leo did it, snapping pictures. We haven't tried it yet...We'll let you know how it turns out :-P
All ready with gloves to make Pepper Juice!
Here is the first day's worth of baking. (The muffins, pancakes, and sauce were baked on another day) Left to right:
Pumpkin Granola, Oatmeal Scotchies, Regular Granola, Black Beans, Baked Beans, Chopped Turkey (The Turkey Stock isn't in the picture)
If you have any questions, or would like any of the above recipes, please comment on this post or email us: I'd be happy to send it to you!
