Today's Modern Innovations (Or Inconveniences?)
Today’s networking inventions have made life extremely different from the way it used to be. Many essential inventions didn’t exist in ancient times. If I lived back then I would miss many innovations. I could not live without my smartphone. In no time I would be bored to death without Pinterest. I would feel so disconnected without Facebook.
If I lived in the ancient world, I would miss my smartphone. What would I do if I couldn’t get all of my emails
and texts at the click of a button? With my smartphone, I can! I can constantly
stay in touch with friends and listen to my favorite music while I do my homework.
The great games keep me amused on my way to
school, in between classes, and when I get home. It is always exhilarating to get a 1000+
score on Angry Birds or Candy Shop. I couldn’t live without it! In
ancient times I would never be able to know the joy of listening to hours
of music and becoming engrossed in a couple hour
game of Temple Run. Worst of all, I
could never get instant calls
and notifications from my friends, who
are always on their smartphones! I’d have to talk face to face with each of
them instead of receiving texts! Gladly, I live in the 21st century where I can pull out my smartphone and catch up
on all the latest news at a few swipes of my touchscreen.
If I lived in ancient times I would
miss Pinterest. How would I keep track
of the thousands of crafts I find online?
I can compete with
friends to get the most pins. Frequently, I spend hours and hours
browsing through the millions of pins that other people, who are more creative than I, have posted on their colossal
pages. I have over one thousand! I
feel exhilarated when I click ‘pin’ for the hundredth time and scroll contentedly through my mile long
page of crafts. In ancient times I would never have a source of cool crafts that I could create.
Because I couldn’t have
Pinterest, I would never have any lasting
amusement! I’d probably have to spend
hours working on intricate mosaics or elaborate paintings. I am very content to live in modern times when I can have an indefinite
number of crafts at hand.
If I lived in ancient times I would miss
Facebook. If Facebook, which
is the best networking system around, didn’t exist, I wouldn’t be able to exchange
updates with people. How would my 678
friends feel sorry for me if I couldn’t let them all know that I was having a
bad day? Eagerly, I chat for hours with them and await new notifications. I can play round after round of Farmville and
compete with my friends at gaining higher scores. I feel like an awesome friend when I scroll through five pages
of statuses and like every one. I get
swept up for hours at a time, presently catching up on the latest
news. In the ancient world I’d have to
travel all over the place to get the news that I can get at the click of a
button nowadays. That would be exhausting! Facebook
is a simple way to learn everything
about everything. I am so glad I live in modern times where I can
connect with my 600+ friends in moments.
Clearly, my smartphone is an awesome way
to keep in touch with my friends.
Pinterest is an incredible
source of the latest crafts. Facebook
lets me catch up on the latest news in a moment. I simply
could not live without these inventions.
Easily, I can talk with
friends, get cool crafts, and receive
updates. Life was drab in ancient times,
and I am thankful to live in modern times where innovative inventions abound!
