Gullion Farms. Down on the Farm. (Brandan)

This last Thursday Me (Brandan), My Mom, Baxter, Cade, and Owen went on a field trip with everyone from our Co-op that we go to, to Gullion Farms. It is an hour away and they had lots of animals, like goats, horses, ducks, chickens, cows, calf's, roosters, bunnies, sheep, lambs, etc.     And they had activities there, and games, and they had a playground and much more.

So, first we learned all about the animals that they have there, and we got to see all the animals, and then we split up into two different groups so that it would be easier to do all the activities, then we went on a hayride, then we took cups and drew faces on them, then we planted seeds in them.

Then after that, we went on a wagon that was pulled by horses, and we went around a field, then we went on the playground that they had there, and they had swings and tires that you could climb up, and they had all sorts of stuff like that.

Then we went up on a hill, where they had two huge slides that went down a hill.    At first it was like a free for all fall, and then it slowed down a bit at the end.    And we each got to go twice, and we would take sack bags and we would sit on them and then we would go down the slide.

And then after that we went on the hayride back to where we ate lunch, and then we ate lunch.

And then after we ate lunch, we split up into two groups, and we switched off doing the rest of the activities, so then we went to the petting zoo, which was right across from where we ate lunch, and then we went in, and we sat down on a bench, and we got to pet all sorts of animals.    First, we got to pet ducks, then we got to pet little puppies, then we got to pet bunnies, then we got to pet chickens.   There was a Silkie Bantam chicken, then we got to pet a chicken that naturally had no feathers on its neck.

Then after that we went fishing, and we used bamboo fishing rods, and we used tiny pieces of hotdog to put on the hook, and lure the fish in.

Then after that we went into the chicken coop. (It was a huge, clean chicken coop) and we learned how chicks develop in their egg, and then after 21 days they hatch.

And we got to collect the chickens' eggs.  And then we got to pet a little baby chick.     And then after that we went to Wendie's and got Frosties, and then we went home.

And we also got to go on a pony ride, so here are some pictures that were taken of the pony ride :)

And we also got to milk a cow!   So here are some pictures that were taken of us milking the cow :)
