Sleepover at the Nashville Zoo (Shaila)

Pretty recently, my Mom and I went on a field trip with our AHG (American Heritage Girls) group. We had a sleep over at the Nashville zoo! We drove over to the zoo, and had quite the adventure there.....

We actually got to go on a walk through the zoo as part of the night owl program! We got to see a ton of animals, and these flamingos were one of the first exhibits that we got to look at! This exhibit reminded me of Great Grandmother who absolutely loved flamingos!!

There were incredible bamboo trails there, too!

We got to see a tiger, too! There was a whole building that talked all about tigers!

In the kangaroo exhibit, we got to actually walk inside of the exhibit with the kangaroos. One of the kangaroos (as you can see in the picture above) was actually carrying a little joey in her pouch! The little joey kept poking his little head out to get a little nibble of grass once in a while:)

The meerkat exhibit was one of my favorites, since I love meerkats! We got a pretty good view of them too!

At the zoo we had the choice of either sleeping in the classroom upstairs, or sleeping downstairs in the 'Unseen World'! My Mom and I decided to be adventurous and sleep down in the Unseen World! So, we got a full tour of the exhibit, and we found out that we were going to be sleeping in the same room with all sorts of reptiles and amphibians! Some of which we didn't even know existed!

Poison frogs!
