Summertime and the Livin' is [Crazy] By: Stella

Whoever wrote the song: "Summertime-and the Livin' is Easy!" didn't know us...
Maybe you'll understand why it has been so long since I posted on the blog when you hear about our schedule!

First we had swimming lessons.  This is an event which we always look forward to.  We had a few weeks without much planned activity, but we soon found that our swimming lessons were upon us! Here's the schedule we had:
5:30: Get woken up by Baby and pick her up, calm her down and creep back into bed
 6:00-6:30: Breakfast, get up
6:30-7:30: Pack swimming bags and hurry through chores
7:45: Get into the car, and head to Grandma's house
8:55: Drop the little kids off at Grandma's and head for K's house
8:00: Pick up E and M and head for Rollins Park
8:30: Arrive at Rollins Park and start swimming lessons
9:00: Finish swimming lessons, wrap up in towels and blast the heat all the way home (Yes, the heat. These are 65 degree days we're talking about hear.  Add swimming in a freezing cold pool...)
 9:25: Drop E and M off at K's house
9:30: Arrive at Grandma's house, pack the little kids in the car and head home
9:45: Arrive at home and have a snack, get the little kid's bags packed (Rus and Tert) and in suits.  Rush out the door again by...
10:15: Leave for ROLFE Pool (yes, two separate pools!)
10:30: Arrive at Rolfe and get there to find out that Rus is getting private lessons, him being the only kid in the class (:-O)
11:00: Rus gets out of the pool, shivering, while Tert gets in for his half-hour lesson
11:30: Head home for the last time

WHEW! It makes me tired just to read the list-not to mention cold :-)
Swimming lessons were 2 weeks long.  By the end of the second week we were extremely thankful to be done.  We looked forward to 1 week of rest-aka a vacation week with Dad. Still, this ended up being rather crazy too.
We had a DI pool party-with 17 kids over here and adults.  Dad worked at the library that day while we were here, having egg races, (VERYYYYY messy), water balloons, and dishing out mounds of Mom's deeeeeelicious ice cream cake. MMM!
After the pool party we had the Fourth of July (the next day).  We awoke to rain clouds blotting out the sun, and ran all day between Accuweather and the window.  We made cupcakes, but those turned out rather messy as it was so blistering hot that the frosting melted! Still, they were pretty cute and yummy! (Sadly I don't have pictures as my camera deleted all the ones on my memory card :'-( Sniff-sniff)
Mom and Dad then headed out from Thursday to Friday on a getaway to the Common Man Inn-but I'll let Mom tell you about that trip ;-) While they were gone, we had a miniature pool party with E and M and swam for (ready for this!?) 5 1/2 HOURS! It was pretty fun, and we had sunburns and deep brown tans to prove it :-P
Saturday was packed (as usual) and then we had a church potluck on Sunday with a long sermon discussion afterwards.
Monday we woke up, and this was our schedule:
8:30: Head towards the car and leave for Franklin Falls at 8:40.
9:00: Arrive at Junior Ranger Camp (at Franklin Falls) for Leo and Rus, meet up with Mrs. W and her son H. (Two of her kids were in the class with Leo and Rus)
Head back home, and bring Mrs. W and H with us until...
11:30: Head towards the car AGAIN for Junior Ranger Camp and pack a picnic lunch
11:50: Arrive at Junior Ranger Camp and eat lunch while we wait for Leo and Rus who come out of class at noon.
Stay at the Dam a little while longer, then head home.
Put the kids in bed and then leave for my orthodontist appointment at: 3:50.
(Find out at the appointment that I need braces- a little overwhelming with all the craziness...)
Get home and find that L, M, and E are there, L ready to drive us to VBS. Scramble and eat supper, leaving by 6:15.
Arrive at VBS by 6:30-and stay until it ends at 8:30.  Get home late, go to bed, and wake up to the same day-(minus the orthodontist appointment!)
Crazy right?!
We are finally settling down for 3 weeks until Drama Group starts-oh my!
