Sweet Stuff

My oldest kids are not at the cute "quotable stage" anymore. Nevertheless, they still come out with some pretty sweet comments now and then. :)

Recently, Stella saw that I was having a rough day and said, "Mom, I know what you should do. You need to borrow my new pair of my earrings and go out on a date with Dad! And I'll babysit the little kids."

Today Leo pointed out, "Mom, it's a good thing we don't have any channels on our TV because, if we had channels, then we'd have COMMERCIALS, and they can be REALLY unpredictable."

Yesterday, Leo exclaimed, "Mom! Cora is throwing up the frog she ate for breakfast. No, wait... She just threw up a bolt!"

Leo observed, "Amelia Bedelia is a good example of following the LETTER of the law."

Rus is a planner and has already come up with a detailed list of things he'd like to do when he gets his license. He even wrote out a menu so he won't forget what he plans to order when he takes us out to Taco Bell for dinner and Friendly's for dessert. He asked his dad if he thought he might be able to borrow some money for the dinner and assured him that he'd pay him back when he got a job. He told us that Tert would stay home to babysit little Filia. :)

Rus told me that he wants to find out Stephen's favorite Bible verse and copy it in his BEST handwriting as a birthday gift.  He told me that it's hard to buy a gift from the store because things cost so much.  Then he said, "Grandma has hundreds of dollars and as many ideas as she has money!  She works wonders with everything and gets the perfect gift for everybody!"

And the Funniest Quotes from Tert...

"Mom, I'm being bad, but it isn't my fault! I think it's someone else's fault."

"Can we be ninjas all afternoon?"

"I miss Dad when he's at work for 60 years."

"Mom, you're cooking better now that you don't have an oven."

"Mom, you're beautiful, but your tummy is MESSED UP! Was DAD in there?!"

"I can't wait until Filia is a person." and "I'll take care of the little nipper!"

He told us that his big sister is called SISSY when she wears her glasses, but she goes by her real name when she takes them off.

"Mom, you look AWESOME!"

Filia doesn't say a whole lot yet, but she is always cracking us up with her baby babble and silliness. She has the funniest habit of stuffing things down the front of her Onesie for safe keeping. So far we have shaken her out to find Stephen's missing credit card, a plastic knife and a bagel thin! :)
