Recently we learned about the structure of an egg. We did an experiment that demonstrated the strength of an eggshell when weight is evenly spread out on it. We began by cracking the tips off the egg, and then we proceeded emptying the eggs of their insides. After letting the shells dry for a while, we taped the ends of the shells so that they stood up. Then we slowly began to place books on the eggs. After a few attempts we succeeded in stabilizing the eggs under the weight of the books. We slowly counted as the book stack grew to a full height of ten books. On the eleventh book the eggs gave out.
As we continue through our science book, we enjoy the prospect of new lessons and experiments!
