Our Last Hoorah...

This week has been filled with sickness in our home. No sooner did little Papoose recover from a horrible stomach flu than Stephen caught a virus and ended up home from work in a feverish stupor. I downplayed his exhaustion until I took a turn in bed on Saturday. I told Stephen that I haven't felt that drained since childbirth! The kids all have bad colds, but they haven't missed a beat. They spent the weekend playing soccer and stacking piles of firewood in the back yard. Thankfully we were all feeling well enough for a fun family outing today. We spent the afternoon at the Hopkinton State Fair and then enjoyed a little "back to school celebration" this evening. Stephen and I presented the kids with the special gifts we'd chosen for them. It was a delightful conclusion to our summer. In just a few minutes it will be time for the kids to go to bed and for me to lay out my schoolbooks for tomorrow. Funny how I still get butterflies before our first day of school...
