Beach Day Fun By: Siobhan

~A Day at Newcastle~

Last week Mom took us to Newcastle beach so Dad could work on some house projects. Elim (our cousin) came with us. I took hundreds of pictures but narrowed them down to my favorites :)

Little Lux: it's so hard to believe he will be two in just four days!
These two are definitely not camera shy!

Ice Cream Making and Caramel Sauce Recipe By: Siobhan

-Ice Cream Making-

Over the 4th of July weekend we decided to make some homemade ice cream. It was quite the adventure!

 ~Homemade Ice Cream~

Supplies
First Mom made our ice cream base. We made a vanilla ice cream base. Rus, Tert, and Filia wanted to try making ice cream the traditional way (with the hand-crank) but soon decided that it would be much better to use the electric mixer.
Next Rus smashed the ice so that it was in smaller chunks.
Then we put our ice cream base in the mixer so it filled up 2/3 full.
We began our layering with 6 cups of ice and topped it with 1/2 cup of ice cream salt.
We repeated the layering until it filled up to the base of the canister. Then we filled the mixer with water up until it hit the drainage hole line.
45 minutes of mixing later we had ice cream!
Now, there was good news and bad news about our ice cream making...
The bad news was that our table collapsed...but the good news was that we saved the ice cream!
(Our table had one too many little people climb on top of it in order to crank the ice cream maker.)
The next step is to mix in some oreos (if you want cookies and cream ice cream) and then taste test!
Yum!
Freeze at least two hours before serving it with some 4th of July cake and topping it with some homemade caramel sauce and a cherry.
Then again you can always use it to make a nutella shake. :)

Trip to the New England Aquarium By: Siobhan

---New England Aquarium---

During our 2015 vacation we went to the New England Aquarium in Boston. We all had a great time.
I got a lot of pictures, some of which I will post here. Most of them came out pretty blurry because I couldn't use a flash, but it will give you a preview of our day there. :)
Penguins!

We got to watch the penguin feedings.
Sea Dragon
Lux loved the school of fish
Lux was sure this fish was Dory :)

Baseball 2015

-Baseball 2015-

Rus is definitely our baseball star.
He was one of three kids picked on his team to represent the Merrimack Valley Baseball League in a rookie all-stars game. Both teams played an incredible game, but Rus' team won 21-19. I forgot to bring my camera to the game, but thankfully someone else took pictures.
Great job Rus!
