~Things We Love About Alabama~
Our whole family has come to love Alabama over these past several months. There are many reasons why we are pretty crazy about our new home...
~The Great Outdoors~
The grass is certainly greener in Alabama! We all miss the beautiful lakes, rivers, and foliage in NH, but we love our big yard, lilies, roses, and crazy creatures. In NH we would pass dead squirrels on the road, but in Alabama we find countless dead armadillos! The kids love all of the interesting creatures they have discovered around our house. Instead of mosquitoes we have lots of leaf bugs and crazy little frogs that have found their way onto our deck and occasionally into our pool! The kids love finding turtles in the road, rescuing them, and setting them free in our creek.
~Car Rides~
Three cheers for finally having a car big enough for our entire family!! We have loved being able to go out together for 50 cent frosties or half price Sonic shakes :)~Swimming~
Ethan and Aidan both joined the Athens swim team. They did a fantastic job, both moving up a level and making great times. Baxter and Cade loved going to their meets and cheering them on! Our favorite day of the summer was our trip to Point Mallard Waterpark. Shaila especially was fearless in the water-flying down the fastest waterslides and even doing a 25 foot high jump!
~Kitchen Projects~
We love whipping up yummy salads, breads, and treats in our new kitchen! Whether we are pulling a loaf of Lemon Blueberry Loaf made with fresh picked blueberries out of the oven or a pan of Jalapeno Popper Dip made with our neighbor's garden peppers, even Baxter and Cade want to join in the fun...
~Visits from Family and Friends~
We have had so much family come down to visit us! We have had so much fun with each and every one of you...
Bridge Street
Duck Pond
The Library
~S'mores~
One of our favorite summer treats!
~Chick-Fil-A~
Whether it's Sing-For-Your-Supper or Cow Appreciation Day, our family will do anything for Chick-Fil-A!
~Parks and Trails~
We have gotten to go to several parks and trails as a family. We miss the Northern Rail Trail, but the trails down here are so beautiful!
