Museum of New Hampshire History By: Leo Age: 8 Dictated to: Stella Age: 9 1/2
We went to the museum for my new hampshire history class. (Lighthouse Co-Op) In the museum we learned about artifacts (Objects made or changed by humans)and documents. (Written or printed material) We went to at table. We saw a lot of old fashioned objects such as train tickets, milk jars with stoppers, and tourniquets. Pur teams put the objects in categories based on how they were used. Then we went to an Abraham Lincoln exhibit. We saw his pocket knife. Then we went home.

Your Laugh of the Day...
These recent quotes are compliments of my now-four-year-old (Taurus). Hope you enjoy!
Rus' favorite adjective is "lovely." He strings it to all of his most heart-felt statements...
"Thank you for my LOVELY birthday!"
"Dear God, we pray for this lovely, big family!"
Rus: "Mommy, I'm Cora's (the dog's) cousin just like Curtis is my cousin!"
"Mom, did you know that Cora is descended by wolves and Huskies?"
To his big brother... "You're not doing what Mom COMMANDED you to do!"
To his mom after her second day without a shower... "Mom, girls need makeup to make them pretty. May you put on your makeup?"
"I had a cookie at Grandma's, and it was DRAMA!" (this almond and teff cookie brought on a violent gag reflex. poor kid)
"When we're having dinner, I wish that Adam and Eve could come!" (he meant Adam and Leigh! :)
to his mom, "I'm glad that you're my teacher. I promise that I'll be with you forever and ever!"
About his baby brother... "Yeah, he's pretty discouraged with preschool."
Recently I exclaimed (a bit too boisterously) over some great writing of his. He said, "Actually Mom, could you turn down your volume because your volume is up."
Finally, he recently asked us the color of our pastor's new baby. After puzzling over this one, we realized that he was remembering our experience getting a baby puppy and assuming that the choices were either yellow or black...
My New Hair
Here's my new hairstyle. I have a love/hate relationship with the color. It's great to be grey-free, but I can't help worrying that it's a little too "witchy." We haven't had money for a real haircut for almost a year. Krista gave me my summer trim, and Stephen did the honors this past time. It's so gratifying to think of the money we save when we cut everyone's hair at home.

Destination Imagination By: Stella Age: 9
I have three favorite things that I like about Destination Imagination. (DI) First, I like DI because it teaches me how to work on a team. When I am in DI I walk in the room and it's like I'm a different person. I am a new person coming up with ideas and ways to solve a problem. Next, I like DI because it allows me to have practice compromising and working with different ideas than mine. In DI I have to help the team work on maybe seven or eight different ideas and then forming them to make a successful product. Finally, I like DI because it gives a wonderful learning experience that I can't get in any other classes. It is a class that I can actually be free to tell the team my thoughts about it and then also help compromise between two people! It certainly is not a class where I just sit at my seat! I love DI in these three ways. I can't see how anyone could possibly live without going into DI. It really brings out the best in me.

My Favorite Holidays By: Stella Age: 9
I have three favorite holidays. These holidays are Christmas, Valentine's Day, and, of course, my birthday. ;) My first favorite holiday is Christmas. I love Christmas because it is a joyful time of year when my family and I celebrate the night when Jesus was born. We also remember past Christmas's and gifts. My second favorite holiday is Valentine's Day. I like Valentine's Day because it represents love and is a great opportunity to show love too! My third favorite holiday is my birthday. I love my birthday because my family and I talk about when I was born and came into this loving family! ;) All these holidays are very special to me because they celebrate the ones who are most dear to me.
