Happy Valentine's Day 2017! (Siobhan)

~Happy Valentine's Day~

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all have had a wonderful Valentine's Day. As always, we did some fun activities I wanted to share with you. I also am attaching links to our other Valentine's Day posts down below in red. Enjoy!
Mom always lays out chocolates and a small gift for each of us in the morning. Shaila and Brandan loved their new puppies!
Baxter and Cade got these teething food feeders. This was Brandan's favorite teething toy! We fill them with mangoes, blueberries, and even ice cubes. They love sucking on them.
 Shaila loves holiday hairstyles!
Our first Valentine's Day craft was these cute heart stamps. We simply folded toilet paper rolls to form a heart, and the kids stamped with them.

Next we did these adorable little Bee Mine valentines. We used toilet paper rolls, construction paper, googly eyes, and pipe cleaners to make them.
I love Connor's addition of teeth 😁
I didn't get a lot of photos of the last craft, but it was so cute. It's a Valentine tree. We traced the kids' hands out of construction paper and left a thick border so that the 'tree' could stand up. I cut some hearts out of craft paper. Shaila glued them onto her hand cutout. These make super cute centerpieces!

Valentine's Day Posts 2015

Valentine's Day 2015 Posts

We have put up a lot of Valentine's Day Posts, and I wanted to put the links to them here. Click on the post title to go to that post. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Heart Suncatcher Craft

 Heart Suncatcher Craft
Today we did another Valentine's Day craft with some friends. It was very simple but the kids really enjoyed it!
Supplies: Cardboard, Contact Paper, Ribbon, Tissue Paper Squares, Scissors
The most time consuming part of this project is the first step: cutting hearts out of the cardboard. Mom bought some cardboard sheets.
Place your cut out heart on a sheet of contact paper, sticky side up.
Decorate the paper with tissue paper squares.
Add another layer of contact paper, sticky side down.
Punch a hole in the top of the heart. String some ribbon through, and you have your heart suncatcher!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Frozen Olaf Valentine Tutorial By: Siobhan

It's almost Valentine's Day, and we have a lot of Valentine's Day crafts and recipe posts coming up. We were snowed in from church yesterday, and Tert, Filia and I had a lot of fun making these. They are essentially just melted Olafs, with a cute tag that says: 'Valentine, You're Worth Melting For!'
Supplies: You'll need some jumbo marshmallows, regular marshmallows, mini marshmallows, pretzel sticks, mini chocolate chips, candy corn (regular or Valentine's Day candy corn), to/from tags, a hole punch, twist ties, markers, treat bags or ziplock bags, red ribbon, and scissors.
Click here to print out these to/from labels. Cut out the labels and hole punch them.
I didn't have any treat bags, so we just cut off the top of a ziplock bag.
First, slice a jumbo marshmallow in half lengthwise. This will be the base of the snowman. Place it inside your bag.

Next cut a tiny bit of marshmallow off the front of a regular sized marshmallow. This leaves a sticky area where you can push on two mini chocolate chips for buttons.

;
Cut the regular marshmallow in half. The half with the chocolate is the body. The other half is the head. Your bag should look something like the top right picture.
Put a candycorn, two mini marshmallows, and a pretzel stick snapped in half in the bag. Put a twist-tie on the top of the bag. Tie a ribbon onto it and add a tag.

Little Lux had his first marshmallow. He loved it, but he had trouble fitting it into his mouth :)

I hope you enjoyed this valentine tutorial. Stay tuned for more Valentine's Day posts this week...
